We're Back...

We arrived home safely last evening around 6:30 p.m. from another weekend and fun trip on the road.

One little King is becoming a champ at riding in the car; a good thing he is because he sure spent a lot of time in it. (14 hours in 2 full days.....from 5:30 Friday to 6:30 on Sunday!) He is also becoming a champ at leaving his Brubby....no tears this time, and only 1 "Where'd my brubby go" just after we left campus yesterday.

Arrived in T town late on Friday, and totally ready for bed. Visited with Grandpa for a few minutes before everyone hit the hay.....knowing that Saturday was going to be a crazy day.

Up at 7:15, and out the door at 8:10..the Oz family was on their way on Saturday. One young King was planning on spending the day with his Grandma W and his Aunt Alex, along with his cousins Ai and Al...while Mom and Dad snitched the boys Uncle Ty and head out to watch the Cadet play in the 2nd round of sectionals. Arrived at noon, just in time for the game to start. Enjoyed watching the cadets, although they were crushed in the game. Seems they had a team in their Section who is ranked 5th in the state. That was no match for the Cadets..although the Cadets have the state's #1 ranked goalie. The boys had a good time though, and realized that without their hard play and Josh's goaltending..the score would have looked more like 22-0...so were pleased with their performance!

Post game, we grabbed the cadet and headed back over to the school so that Uncle Ty could check out the joint....given that he is an alumni. The Cadet enjoyed showing off his Lt. Colonel Uncle to his friends, TAC officers, etc., and the Lt. Colonel enjoyed reliving some memories of his times there. Then it was off to T town for a familial party that was due to start at 6...good thing we arrived back in town a little after 5 huh!

Off to the Halloween party we went....kids ready to have a blow out and bang up time....and bang up they did. Surrounding by tens of cousins and second cousins, eating donuts off strings, creating crafts, running around scaring cousins and in general having lots of great food and great fun. No wonder Mom and Dad Oz were tired when we left at 10:00..there was a lot of King chasing!

Same goes on Sunday....up at the crack of dawn..off to breakfast with Grandpa F before heading up to Grandma W's house to say good bye and be safe to the Lt. Colonel who will be spending the next year in Iraq. With hugs and kissies to Aunt Alex, Ai, Al, Uncle Ty, grandma and grandpa w, it was back in the car to head over to the Cadet's school to drop him off. With a trip to Walmart for the requisite teenager food (pop tarts, ramen noodles and the like), and hugs and kissies, it was back in the car to drive the 300 miles home. And that brings us full circle.

Whew...what an on the go weekend...glad to be home to relax!
