It seems like.....
It seems like I am always playing catchup with blogging! Mornings and nighttimes are jampacked with Holiday doings, kid doings, house doings, etc. It kills me when I check the west coaster's blog at Casa DeDuckfeet and see that several days have passed with plenty of updates..and mine still sits at Sunday/Monday on a Friday! Then the whole Working Mommy guilt sets in.....ya di ya di ya di ya.....
Okay...that said.....yup..you guessed it..it is time for another round of playing catchup in the Land of Oz! So let's begin...
Looooong Hockey Roadtrips - Last Saturday found the Prince and I taking off for Dayton Ohio to play 2 games in Centerville. The King and Mr. Oz hung out at home for the weekend, as we feared the looooong roadtrip that was to occur might be too much for the King. Late afternoon and evening games ensued, during which the Prince's team was victorious! They even staged a Red Wings style "come from behind" win in the first game! It was fun to watch. Then it was a hop in the car to head over to Columbus Ohio where we were spending the night. Sunday morning dawned with excitement as the Prince and his team were scheduled to play at the NHL arena in Columbus. Although the team lost 5-4, the kids played well...did a great job..and had a ball being major leaguers on the ice. A hop back in the car again and we arrived back home 28 hours after we had left. Whew.....what a loooonnnngg weekend!
Holiday Happenings - Middle School Orchesteral Holiday Greetings occurred on Tuesday evening. The Prince's holiday concert was great, with lots of standards (including the Shoe Concerto..sh sh sh stomp stomp) and the Symphony Orchestra (the most advanced crew) did a great job on the Carol of the Bells, as well as the Holiday Concertina. It was a late night for the prince and I though...and we were still recovering from the weekend!
Wednesday night found me at my company holiday party. Yet another long evening (fun though!) that kept me away from the King (thanks Mr. Oz for the parental duty for those two nights and over the weekend). After the party, I hit the Ice Rink to allow the King and Mr. Oz to head home and go to bed...and the Prince and I again arrived home after a late night (10:45 p.m. yikes!)
All of the holiday doings cause havoc - All of the holiday and hockey doings have caused havoc in King "I want my Mommy and She is always off somewhere"'s life. This week he has cried everytime I have left him at daycare in the mornings (making me feel like a great Mommy let me tell you!). I am desperately looking forward to this weekend..where there can be lots of Mommy/King time to end the "struggle". Poor little King...little does he know that I want my King too!
What Xmas Shopping? As crazy as work and home has been, I find myself woefully behind on the Christmas shopping. So....interspersed with this weekend's Mommy/King time, and 4 home (thankfully!) hockey games, there will be a ton of shopping wrapping, etc. No Xmas baking is going to get done this year I fear....no time...and I really don't need the calories!
So that about sums it up. It looks a lot less busy on paper than it was in person...as my bleary eyes will tell you! TGIF!

And the reason I have so many updates is that there's nobody to call at 10pm Pacific time and say, "Do you know what your niece/granddaughter did today?" Y'all'd disown me...
