The last 10 days....
Sigh. Yeah yea yeah. I know. Where are the daily or semi-daily blog postings? Did the DSL line freeze up with the cold weather last week? (Thanks bro for the comment)....where is the Oz family!
Well..the Oz family is enjoying NO SNOW (hah you northerners!)...colder temperatures, and living with one Van vs. two vehicles for several days. Seems (total chick description coming..I warned you) that three teeth sheared off of the main planetary gear of the gear drive chain in the transmission of the Taurus. For someone with an understanding of how that works, it means a new/rebuit transmission to replace that, and some other funky named parts, etc. For those who are "chicks with me" that means "Car no go without a major multi-thousand dollar cash outlay". Add to that the medical stint with the Cadet's knee issues...and we are having a TOTALLY FUN two weeks... sigh.
This begs the obvious (running hither, thither and yon) car pooling issues for Mr. and Mrs. Oz, and ensuring that the kiddo gets picked up from daycare by 6 (before the ol' $1 per minute rule applies)...which means lots of time in the remaining car for Mrs. Oz (my schedule works out easier for a later arrival or an earlier departure). Of course...it can't be that easy though. We have to run up against days like today, where one Cadet will be arriving at Indy for winter break at 3:45 p.m. and will need picked up (Indy is 2+ hours away), and one Mr. Oz needs a pickup at 5:00 (which you can see doesn't work with the 2+ hours back from Indy)....and you can see that there is a delicate dance going on (and a cab ride in the future of Mr. Oz!).
Can ya tell that I have just "tied a knot and am hanging on" to the end of my rope? Just barely? I don't wanna play anymore....
