I hope he's okay!
Heard just now on MSNBC from a reporter in a Galveston Hotel. She is locked down with the fire department, police and other reporters and indicated that Ike was pretty intense over the past few hours

When asked about how she was on the phone, she indicated that her cell phone provider AT&T had zero service right now, but that she had borrowed a fellow reporter's phone who was on Verizon and the service was still good to go.
<-----Glad to see he and his network guys made it through the storm
( am guessing that soundbite will make it into a Verizon Commercial! "I borrowed a reporters phone who has Verizon and was able to call. Sorry AT&T you have no service here"
