Random Saturday Musings.....

Ahhh Saturday...a day for random musings on life......

A child with an ear infection does NOT sleep well..hence the person "on call" for the night doesn't either. Just ask Mr. Oz...who was the Daddy on call last night...when a little one was spiking fevers, and refusing to sleep more than 15 minutes at a stretch. I know I have said this before..but thank goodness for a pediatrician who is open on Saturday mornings. A $10 copay, two $7 prescriptions..and I should be in good stead tonight! (The one script makes the little one sleepy..dang....sleepy at night..what a concept!)

Orange and Creme Kit Kats are awesome! When picking up the scripts at the local Walgreens, I picked up a bag of Raspberry Dark chocolate Hershey Nuggets (eh..they are okay), Peanut Butter Lovers Mini-Reese Cups (they are better than okay..but not awesome) and Orange and Creme Kit Kats.....too tasty for words..they are highly recommended. (Can you tell that I took the little Oz to the Dr's and hadn't eaten breakfast yet...)

The New Star Wars Movie is worth seeing! Okay...I say that..but I haven't seen it. Mr. Oz (once he "woke up" at around 2:30) and Older Oz took off to see the movie this afternoon and both highly recommend it. I can't believe it ends a saga that started 25 years ago. (I know this due to the fact that R & J Faison are celebrating their 25th anniversary this month.......). Ahh Anakin...did ya have to Vader out?

Never believe that you are up on what your kids know how to do. Older Oz never ceases to amaze me when he does something that I didn't have a clue that he knew how to do (algebra equations anyone?). Now littlest Oz is pulling the same stunts. This evening, I walked him towards his changing table in the great room to get his night-night clothes on. He took a turn for the stairs up to the kitchen. (Note..he never is allowed to walk around in this area...so this was all new to him). He put his little chubby hands on the second stair up, looked over at me, and proceeded to kneel on the first stair, stand up, move his hands, kneel on the second...lather rinse repeat until he had scampered up the stairs. First try...did it like he has been climbing stairs for a year! In fact, when he reached the top, he took a turn to head up the next set rather than look back at us to see if we were watching...I think he was looking for his brother. Lookout....there is trouble brewing now!

Walks around the neighborhood are fun and you get to meet people! While the older Oz boys were at the movies, I decided to take sickie outside to get some sunshine. We took a walk to the end of the road and back. On the way, we met a neighbor who lives in the house like ours on the street. Spent about 45 minutes getting to know him (Sickie was being his usual cute sweet self in his stroller, playing with a toy..nary a peep!). Found out we have hockey in common! How fun!

Seven ear infections in a year means that you not only walk out of a Dr's office with prescriptions; you walk out with a referral to an ENT too. Yup....the Docs think sickie is a candidate for tubes in his ears. Sheesh...older Oz's health needs were soooo much lighter....but that is okay....sickie must take after his mom who LIVED with ear infections as a little one!

Long naps are not conducive to going to bed early. Sickie has taken 2 long naps today...and is racing around the great room like it is 10 a.m. Great..what time does he take that medicine that makes him sleepy? Midnight....but in the meantime...I think books and chicken ball are in order.....Gnite all..there is a sickie to go hang out with.
