"So who did you like?"
An oft heard question on this first Saturday in May is "So who do you like in the Derby". You hear it from the gas station attendant, the checkout lane person at the store, your pastor at Church...and even your kids!
Alack and Alas, I liked none, so I placed no bet. Before we left the track yesterday though, Sparky placed three $2 show bets...and Mr. Oz placed 2 $2 show bets. Mr. Oz placed the right one ..seems HE liked the now 2005 KY Derby Winner Giacomo...paying back 19.80 on his 2 bet. Would have liked to be the person who placed the Superfecta bet (Top four horses, picking finishing order....me personally, I always box the exotics so that as long as they come in, it doesn't matter the order)...THAT bet paid back 1.7 million (yes...1.7 million!) The Exacta (top two) paid 9 grand....seems two longshots were 1 & 2! Lawyers, to be sure, would have had money on the 2nd place horse based on name alone "Closing Argument". Ah....if only we had glasses to see into the future right?!
So my question still stands...who did you like?
