5 more nite nites....

One young king is back to counting nite nites in anticipation of seeing his big bother (spelling intentional of course....no little sibling would EVER spell "brother" correctly....they all are bothers!) Of course, the big bother is counting night nights too, I think he enjoys his brub as much as his brub enjoys him!

BUT..when it comes to the reunion of the bothers, it also means that Mom has a boatload of travel prep to do. Sing along with me Moms..."no body knows the packing I do, no body knows...the "to do" lists".....That's okay though....that is what Thanksgiving is all about huh!

Sing it, Sistah! My favorite part is when S reminds me to do things on the "going out of town" to-do list. What, you can't pick up the phone and call the neighbors or the newspaper yourself???

Someday, I'd like to be the one who just packs her suitcase and shows up at the door. In my dreams, anyway....

I've figured out how not to pack his suitcase - I used to actually have that on my to-do list - until I sort of forgot to pack a bunch of stuff. Now at least he does his own. (To be honest, if it's a trip he's got an interest in (i.e. boating) he at least makes the list and carries out the bulk of the packing. But home to the in-laws for Thanksgiving? I'm pretty much on my own! And I need to know - you do all the work on prepping and packing - do you also get the complaint that you've packed way too much?? We've agreed to disagree on volume....curious what others experience.

ME, you are SOOOOO funny! AND SO RIGHT! Yup, "we packed wayyy too much" often comes about 5 hours before "why didn't you pack me X or Y"....next time I hear it I will say "because I had packed too much already"

Oh yes, I always overpack, or so I'm told. "We won't need this, we won't need that." And "Who's going to carry all this stuff?" and "Why do we need thaaaat??"

And then just who is stuck in the hotel room with the barfy, runny-pooped diaper kid and in desparate need of extra changes of clothes and entertainment while he's off gallavanting with the others? BTDT.

And who's the one who gets extra grouchy when they whine they have nothing to do in the car 2 hours into a 5 hour trip and so start picking on each other?

I'm just sayin'....
