What a beautiful weekend!

Wow! What a Chamber of Commerce weekend we had. The weather was gorgeous, warm temps and low humidity. Just right for a ton of playing "ouside" (as the King would say). Also just right for getting a boatload of outside work accomplished.

Saturday morning started off with a quick glance at the news to check out the local balloon race. Friday night, as Mr. Oz was passing by a channel, the King screamed "go back Daddy, Balloons". They were doing a balloon glow and one of the local channels was covering it. We knew the race was scheduled for Sat a.m. so thought the King would like to watch the balloons again. We then realized that the Hare Balloon was heading in our direction and looked to be landing a few miles from our house. We couldn't pass up the opportunity for the King to see these wonderful balloons up close and personal, so we hopped into the car and headed out in time to see 45 of the 51 balloons toss their treasure from the sky to see if they could be closest to the X that the Hare balloon folks had placed on the ground. Just have to say "YEA REMAX BALLOON...4 feet from the center of the X!". (Kind of hard with 1 oz of Bluegrass Seed, a tail ribbon, and 8 mile winds!). Corporate Marketing was at its finest on the balloons: Mr. Oz and I laughed as the King called out "the Coca-Cola Balloon", "The Wal Mart Ballon" and on and on. The king was definitely most impressed by the size of these behemoths!

Back at home post-race, Mr. Oz took down two trees that were growing in a raised flower bed - they had been planted as accent bushes and had grown into full blown trees whose roots were pushing the rock wall out. One was a soft needle pine that had reached about 16 feet and the other a 10 foot arbor vitae. Then he noted that it was time to powerwash parts of the house, so up the ladder he went and hit a few parts where the spores from the soft needle pines that surround our house had decided to light.

While Mr. Oz was working on Trees and Siding, the King and I (that would be a great name for a musical - LOL) were busy playing soccer, baseball, riding down the front hill in his Little Tykes car, blowing off driveways, riding bikes and weeding flower beds. Made for several busy mornings for us. I also managed, during the King's nap time yesterday, to get the ol' front yard mowed. I must say, we are looking rather springy cleaned around the joint!

All in all, a beautifully fun weekend - with no pics of course as I was too busy playing (and the camera was too busy sitting quietly in my closet at the office!). Tonight we welcome our neice B who is in town for a golf outing for work-have baby gear to pass along, and B is just the right person to receive it! (Hope she is bringing an SUV! LOL)

Have a great week!
