Of exhausation, inventory, and holiday overload.....

For some reason, I was thoroughly unable to fall asleep last night. Then last night morphed into this morning before my eyes finally closed around 2:15 a.m. Normally..that would stink...if your normal is "getting up at 6:30 to be to work at 8:00. That isn't how I roll though - my day starts at 5:00 a.m. and I am at the office typically by 6:30 or so, meaning falling asleep less than three hours before you get up reallllly stinks. In fact, I can't believe that I am still awake right now!

That being said (and exhaustion being the rule today!), today heralded year end inventory. Thankfully this years went smoothly, but I will now spend the next week or so trying to cost out everything, and justifying the random variances that always seem to crop up when human's are involved in the inventory process. I can be thankful that I have a job though - the industry is in the toilet - and company's like mine are folding up shop daily - each day that I get to go back is a blessing right?

Add to the exhaustion and physical inventory/industry woes - I am totally on holiday overload. The Living Room is thoroughly trashed and I don't have the desire ability to even consider getting it put back together. There are toys strewn about the entire room, half pieces of games and toys separated from their "rightful place", empty boxes and bags of wrapping paper waiting for their march to the dumpster - you know the drill - the usual remnants of christmas that most Mom's clean up before 11:00 a.m. on Christmas Morning. (Which didn't happen, as we did the christmas thing and then bailed to spend the remainder of the holiday weekend in Toledo). I am guessing at the color of the living room carpet at this juncture - and will probably finally dig out on New Years Eve.

But, That. Is. Okay. Right?

Yeah, I think so too. And so off to bed I go, exhausted, with loads of work to do at work and at home - and that.is.okay.

Yes, that's perfectly OK. Our Living Room looked fine after Christmas (not 11am, but as part of the bedtime cleanup), but that's because we were heading out 2 days later and had time. And my charming employer shut down everything for two weeks so I don't have to work from Sunriver. These shutdowns eat up vacation though....

Hang in there!
