Thank you Bishop Doran! (Religiously Political)

I would ask that you rescind this unfortunate decision and so avoid dishonoring the practicing Catholics of the United States, including those of this Diocese. Failing that, please have the decency to change the name of the University to something like, “The Fighting Irish College” or “Northwestern Indiana Humanist University.” -The Most Reverend Thomas G. Doran, D.D., J.C.D.,Bishop of Rockford to Father John Jenkins, President of Notre Dame University regarding Notre Dame inviting President Obama to speak at commencement.

Rarely does one (anyone) speak against the great University (whom most believe has a sports programme blessed by the Lord Himself), but in this case many of the US Catholic Diocesan organizations are absolutely outraged that a University named for the Blessed Virgin has invited a person to speak and confer a degree upon who believes that Life is a choice that must be made by a Woman or Science rather than by God.

Question for Father Jenkins - What if the Blessed Mother had made her "choice" under today's US Laws? Heck, she was a teenager, unwed, impregnated without her "consent"....a perfect candidate for "a woman's right choose"... Yeah - I thought so.

From here on, I will refer to ND as that "Once great Catholic now Secular College to the west".
