An Ode to Laundry

With apologies to Ogden Nash and his "Reflections on a Wicked World"...

Dirty Laundry
Makes minds to wandry

I freaking hate doing laundry.  It no sooner gets "done" as I realize that someone (cadet) has managed to dump the entire contents of his dresser on his floor looking for one stinking shirt.  And then when I say "pick up your clothes and put them away, he responds "All of this is dirty now".  Yeah.  Oh, and Mr. Oz?  No better at it either.  He will root through the box of summer clothes (which we are just now starting to need), dumping the things that he doesn't want onto the floor.  Of course, he doesn't manage to put them back, so when I "find" them several days later, they are truly no longer clean.  Sigh.

So today, on the "day of rest" - I will spend the entire day lathering, rinsing and repeating.  Through about 10-15 loads of laundry.  Then, I just might retire.  For.Ever.

Yeah, this is one reason I like working at home. I can toss in a load on the way to the kitchen to get a drink of water.

And if you find a solution to the "I threw it on the floor and left it there, so now it's dirty" thing, let me know. A certain Ms E has that one in spades....

My personal favorite is when the Cadet's crap gets put in the laundry basket and when I pull it out - it is STILL FOLDED.

My solution (once I get this all caught up AGAIN) is going to be a simple one. I am no longer going to DO the cadet's laundry - yet I am going to insist that every Wednesday and Saturday are laundry days for him - and he can't leave the house until his laundry is done. Yeah.I am that evil (and ticked)
I have been known to "sniff and fold....." Shhhh don't tell.
