Takin Down Thursday...

The Christmas Season has officially ended in the Merry Old Land of Oz.  I finally was able to unfreeze the lock on the outside storage unit thanks to a clever combination of a microwave and a coffee cup of vodka, and while I didn't partake, the lock sure enjoyed its swig o'a morning beverage.

I always marvel at how empty the place looks when the decorations come down....everything seems so, well, blank.  I never seem to notice it between February and November, but it sure is evident to me for the entire month of January.  It is one of the little things that drive me crazy...but then I am over it.  Perhaps that is the real root of the January Blahs for everyone.  Not only are the holidays over, but the house seems, well, empty.

Well I'm just going to travel all through january so maybe I'll take my tree down in february. It's live though, so I might be scooping up a lot of needles...

It does seem blah around the house as I remember. One thing I did was buy cute Valentine's day kitchen towels - when I'm home that's where I am anyway! Cheers me up.

I got home from the GS house today and the fake tree is still up. I'm swamped through at least tomorrow, so it's not coming down this weekend... Maybe next week sometime?
