Thanks to Dr. Phil..and the Motivation of big bothers.....

Thanks to the motivation of Dr. Phil and the love shown by my big bother in calling me PF, the health quest that I am on to drop some weight and get a little more heart healthy is working.  Okay, really...thanks to my motivation, calorie counting and such....

At this point, I am down 12 lbs...which in the grand scheme of things doesn't seem like a lot..but in reality is over 25% of my total goal. Rockin!!  Of course, now I am heading into the phases of weight loss that will "slow down", but that is okay.  Having learned back when I turned 30, slow and stead wins the race.  Yes, there is still just under 75% to go...but I ain't gonna sugar coat it, because...yeah RF, I would eat that too!

Great job, Joyce! I'm making some major lifestyle changes now too. Gotta be proactive with my diabetes and the looming threat of heart disease for us diabetics.

Read The China Study, that'll snap you into eating well, especially with your heart condition and family history of cancer.

Keep up the good work!

Thanks all for the encouragement. Tis appreciated! You are right Heather...being proactive is wayyyyy better than playing catch up and wondering what went wrong! (What went wrong today...the stupid Cadbury Caramel Egg...totally unnecessary...and it wasn't even that good).

Afraid of the China Study....me and my proteins and fats (animal based) are happy (the ol' Cholesterol says I am okay with it too)...and a plant based/raw food type diet would kill me (psychologically). Thankfully (I guess) it is all in moderation for me. My "plate" so to speak is heavier on the plant based foods, and lighter on the fats/proteins....but they are still there....at least for now.
